Hi! I'm Laurie Taylor, founder and owner of Taylor Writing Services.  I’m a 20+ year veteran of marketing and PR communications. I have diverse professional experience in Fortune 500 and public relations agency environments and a specialized writing niche in the financial services industry.  After leaving the corporate world, I began my own freelance marketing and PR communications firm to offer clients writing and editing services for both external and internal audiences as well as strategic PR content.  

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (because I love a good story) and a business minor. Over the years, I’ve taken several writing and communications classes, including through the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). I have vast communications experience, including writing for corporations, small to mid-sized businesses, and trade publications. Topics include property & casualty insurance for both commercial and personal lines customers, risk management, real estate and homebuilding, landscape architecture, and more.  

 Is your company’s product or service complicated? Are you in a highly-regulated industry? No problem. I spent 14 years in the property & casualty insurance industry where I dealt with complex marketing and writing endeavors, including explaining the financial services industry to my fellow colleagues. One of my strengths is a curious spirit and desire to find the underlying story that matters to the audience, both external and internal, regardless of the industry.
